Hello everyone! I am trying my hand at an interactive tale. It will be a sort of spooky, choose your own path horror story, with omorashi incorporated situationally. I will try to incorporate actions based on the general consensus of the thread and try to meld them together. I have no art, but will try to paint a picture with words. I'll start off light. Here we go!

You wake up facedown in the dirt. Wait, dirt? Standing up, you look around, wiping the mud off the knees of your pants. Its foggy. Shaking the cobwebs out of your paining head, you also realize you have no idea where you are. It appears to be a village of some sort, the street underneath you not pavement like you'd be used to back in....where? You look behind you...just more fog. You think you can make out the shapes of trees, but you're not entirely certain. Working through the shock of the moment, you take a moment to process things.

You are.....You have no idea who you are. You do not know where you came from, or how you got here, or if you've been here all along. Upon trying to concentrate on remembering too hard, you get random incomprehensible flashes along with sharp stabbing pain in your skull. You look down the street. At the end of the street there are streets leading to the left, right, and further forward still. On either side of you are 3 buildings lining the street on each side, with each building being 2 stories high. The buildings on your right seem like shops, and the ones on your left seem like homes. You take a moment to glance in the window of the house on your left, through the dirt and dust, you only make out darkness. It is here you see your reflection.

You're a girl. You gather this much immediately, and a very pretty one at that. Long, brown hair, porcelain skin, and big beautiful blue eyes. You feel smug about it for a moment. You're wearing gray jeans, a bit tight and a bit scruffy. You feel this is odd. You have no idea who you are, but you feel like you're a dress, skirt, or really long shirt person. You shrug it off and continue examining yourself. You have a nose piercing on the left side, a pretty stud. Rosy lipstick, and a nice big black sunhat. That combined with your black and white shirt/overshirt combo makes you feel like you were on your way somewhere nice, and that the scruffiness of the jeans might be an oddly stylistic choice. You like your style...whoever you are. In addition to this, you have some fancy black shoes on. Taking a moment to gather yourself, you notice you have a phone on you, although it is dead, and a book of matches.

Now that you have taken account of everything you are, what you have, and your surroundings you ponder what to do. It is also then you realize....the village seems dead. No lights on in any of the buildings. No people. No breeze. Not even the chirp of a lone robin sailing through the sky.

A chill goes through you, as you realize that although you remember nothing, in this foggy village you're pretty sure you've never felt more alone in your life. Something isn't right.

Your throat is dry. You also feel hungry. These among a swirl of emotions, mostly fear. What is it you do next?

Inventory: Dead phone, matches (10)

Bladder: [|||                    ] Nearly empty.

---

Hopefully this gives enough of a beginning impression of what I want to do. The rest is up to you guys. Keep in mind, there is no set rules. Go with your gut. If you come across a person, you can be nice, or you can be cruel. In certain situations, you might need to be one or the other to succeed in what you are doing at that time dry....or even alive. Death can happen in various fashions, and what results depend on said fashion. It could be game over, it could be something else. Wetting yourself isn't a game over, although there will be consequences...

Don't be afraid to explore. Be unorthodox. Be creative. You just might make it out of this foggy hellhole with your wits about you. Or maybe you won't. Its up to you.

If not dangerous and no-one seems to be inside, go Link on them and RPG the shit out of whatever may be hidden inside the house. See if you can find a charger for your phone or something of that sort. (This is why I always carry an extra battery pack guys, phones die :P)

You decide to start with the homes on your left. Logically, the first one to begin with would be the one closest to you, given you are standing at the beginning of this street. In the interest of safety, you take a peek around the back as well, seeing nothing of note other than the fact that the grass in the backyard seems simultaneously dead and alive. Further back beyond the fog, you can make out more tree-like shapes. You return to the front, knocking on the door. The lights are off inside, so your hopes were not high to begin with, but you can't help but feel a pain of disappointment upon receiving no answer. To your surprise, however, the door is unlocked, and you're able to walk right in.

The setting is not at all what you expected. You expected something more modern like back....home? You're not sure. You just feel surprised at the perceived lack of modern-ness. The sitting room before you has no electronics, or even lightbulbs. It seems to you like a cabin out of a movie you may or may not have watched on a given day. You spy a bookshelf directly across from you loaded with books from a by-gone age, a couch with a coffee table in front of it with a nice rug beneath them. A rocking chair in the corner, that seems for a moment like its very subtly rocking back and forth, but if it is, its so subtle you can't actually be sure. There is many a candle around the room, and shelves littered with various knick knacks. You take a moment to look at them. Small sculptures, a few dolls, things like that. On the shelf directly to your left, the closest one is a nutcracker. Its painted eyes seem to be staring at you, no matter where you move to. Its a bit unnerving. On the coffee table there is a palette of bottled water, and quite a bit of it. Considering the volume of it, and the fact that you feel so thirsty you think you may drop, you decide stealing is okay just this once. You grab a bottle and drink it down faster than anything you have in your entire life, you assume so anyway. That hit the spot. Now you just need a nice sandwich.

Remembering what you're here for, you call out into the house. You need help. Your memory has not been jogged in the slightest, and your head still hurts. Given the state of the house you doubt there's a phone here, but it would not hurt to gather some information and assistance. However, you're not exactly hopeful for human presence either. You shrug at the silence and prep yourself to look around for things you can use...Before you hear a scratching sound and a small whine come from the closet, over by the couch. The reminder of the dog you once perhaps had flashes through your mind with a stab of pain. You shake it off before freezing slightly in fear. That whine did not sound like a dog. That sounded like a person. You think about checking; it could be somebody in trouble. But that does not stop that voice in the back of your mind from telling you to run, a fight or flight response. But is there truly any danger..?

Inventory: Dead phone, Matches (10), an empty water bottle in your hand

Bladder: [|||||              ] The bottle of water kickstarted your kidneys and the like; having been so thirsty your body is rushing all the fluid through to hydrate you as fast as possible. Nothing to worry about yet, however.

If we're lost and don't know where we are, the best way to find civilization is to walk downhill until we find water and follow the water downstream until we run into a city or the ocean,

Before doing so we should probably plan ahead and gather a few items for survival though, maybe some spare clothes out of the homes, anything for lighting fires or catching food, an axe/weapon, a lighter, etc. Or food that won't expire (doesn't need to stay cold) if there is any in the cabinets. And lastly probably a bag to help carry it all in.

We're going camping! (and getting the fuck out of here as fast as possible)

Side note: I don't play horror games for this and many other reasons :X

A more realistic option and what I  would probably do in this scenario is to not look in the closet and stop talking out loud and run for your life :x

Screaming like a little girl is optional

Curiosity gets the better of you, and you decide to check the closet. First however, you must find something to use as a weapon, just in case. You grab one of the candlesticks off of the shelf next to you, and use one of your matches to light it. Looking around the room for specific types of objects you could use for defensive purposes in your newly created candle-light, you notice a doorway next to the closet that leads into a kitchen. You decide to not go past the closet to explore it yet, given the scratching coming from mentioned closet. You do however, find a fireplace poker; its certainly dulled and not sharp, but could be used as a blunt object for whacking things. You gaze at it and decide it will have to do, given the circumstance. You cautiously move towards the closet door, raising the poker above your head, before turning the knob...

...And inside is a young woman. Sitting on the floor curled up in a ball, she is weeping. Taking in her appearance quickly, searching for danger, you see she is wearing grey shorts and a pretty summer top. Her hair is a bit to the grayer side, but she is certainly not old, you can tell that much. A little younger than you perhaps, however old you are. You are pleased to have found someone, but a bit cautious of the circumstance. You ask her who she is, where you are, and how you ended up here.

She says her name is Ella, and asks who you are before continuing. You explain you have no recollection of who you are or how you ended up here. Her eyes widen understanding, and she quickly begins giving a rundown, telling you not to panic before she starts. You note that while she has calmed down remarkably, you assume for your sake which is especially odd given the circumstance, she seems very distracted by something. Ella states that you are in a village known as Quiet Salem, and she has been surviving here for 2 years now. You become startled at her use of the word surviving and she notices this; the reason for her telling you not to panic is quickly becoming clear. You keep your composure when she tells you that there are 5 other citizens here, and none of them know how they got here, they just woke up here one day. She notes that you are the first to show up without any memory of your life beforehand, and that this new element worries her, for change in your circumstance may not be good. You note immediately this means none of them have left, and she slows down and raises her hands, which makes it obvious to you that what she says next may not be something you want to hear.

She claims that none who have showed up in Quiet Salem have left alive. You feel nauseous and your anxiety goes through the roof. You sit on the floor and try to catch your breath and Ella quickly moves to damage control. She claims that Quiet Salem is a perfectly livable environment. You look at her like she's insane. She expects you to stay here?!

You quickly become furious and tell her she's insane. You move to storm off, heading in the direction of the kitchen. It is then you see a shape move past the kitchen window. Something very unnatural. You are frozen in fear. It is seconds later you feel Ella tugging on your foot urgently. The reason for her being in the closet and her silent way of getting your attention suddenly make sense as you drop down onto the floor next to her, trying not to scream. You look at her, and before you can even ask the obvious question, she begins, speaking in a hushed tone.

Quiet Salem is home to more than just a small handful of humans. There are also a group of creatures, that the citizens have come to call "The Dwellers." These creatures come in all shapes and sizes. Rarely more than a few ever wander into the town itself, lurking mostly upon its borders, but even a few are incredibly dangerous. It would be wise to stay out of their way. You idly state they must lurk among the trees. Ella looks you in the eye before making one simple statement that makes you fully appreciate your predicament.

"There are no trees."
Your blood runs cold.

As you sit there in shock, Ella points out that there's something you really need to know about the Dwellers as fast as possible. While one or two may lurk the streets, they never seem to enter occupied homes, except for on one certain condition. For whatever reason, they are oddly attracted to, and made feral, by the scent of urine. As a result, you MUST urinate in a toilet, or almost guarantee that a Dweller, or even multiple, will come looking for you almost immediately with precision and ferocity. The toilets in Quiet Salem seem to have an odd magical property which dispels the scent. This would not be a problem...If Quiet Salem had more than 2 toilets. One here on South Street, and the other on East Street. The closest one is the second house down, Ella explains. You suddenly regret drinking that water earlier...But you were thirsty to the point of near-fainting, so you didn't have much choice. She laments that there used to be two more citizens, but each met their demise. One panicked shortly after he arrived and tried to escape, never to be seen again. The other was a girl who had an accident in the middle of the street. It was not long before the Dwellers dragged her away.

You ask her, still hopeful, if there's any way that could feasibly lead to an escape from Quiet Salem. She says she has a theory that the gate at the end of North Street could potentially lead to a way out, being the only road that doesn't end in a dead end, continuing long beyond the gate...But nobody has ever managed to open it. She goes on to explain, still seemingly under the impression that escape is impossible, that every Saturday at midnight the fog in the center of town becomes too thick to see through, and when it clears, there is enough rations sitting in the middle of the town for every single citizen in it. She idly muses that most of the meat goes to Big Carl the Butcher, who lives in his shop across the street, and he prepares it for everyone to keep himself occupied, distracting himself from the misery of being where he is. She laments that she has not seen him in 3 days. She says she has more than enough provisions, so take whatever you need.

Something in the way she says this makes you concerned, and you notice that she is still curled up and seemingly in agony. She tells you that she needs to pee very badly, but could not leave due to the fact that a Dweller has been lurking around outside of her house for an uncharacteristic amount of time, and now she fears that since she cannot walk properly, let alone make a run for it, she will not make it to the toilet at the end of the street, especially not if the Dweller sees her. She tells you to gather what you need and leave as quickly as possible and find someone else to get you accustomed to the town and keep you safe, for when she loses control shortly the Dweller will most certainly break in and you should not be here when that happens, not if you value your life. She thanks you for your company in what she obviously presumes to be her final moments.

This is a lot to take in, but you cannot afford to have a breakdown over it now. Danger is possibly very imminent. You consider trying to help Ella two houses down, but you might not make it if the Dweller sees you, or if Ella wets herself on the way. It would be far more beneficial to you to do as she says, and quickly run about the house to gather what you need before tracking down someone else to assist you on your journey, for there's no way in hell you're going to sit down and just live here until you rot away. If you could remember yourself, you'd know you're not that kind of girl. But you know this would leave Ella to a horrible, and equally humiliating fate, and the guilt in the back of your mind nags that you owe her very much for filling you in before you could continue ignorantly on and get yourself killed. All this, while being in a far worse predicament herself. But is this really the time for your conscience to get involved? You're learning too much far too quickly, and having this sudden dilemma sprung on you isn't helping. Is there any way you could help her? Odds are, not many. Are you obligated to try? Certainly not. You briefly consider trying to fight off the Dweller with the poker, but that feels like a silly idea. If only there was some way you could swindle both of you out of this, but alas, this is looking less and less the case by the second...

While all this is swimming through your head an inquiry comes to mind. You ask Ella if Dwellers have attacked anyone for reasons not involving, well, pee. She looks at you before shakily nodding. Ella explains that The Dwellers are very hostile upon contact with humans, and should you venture too close you are very likely to come to harm. For example, if she ventured outside right now and the Dweller skulking about were to hear her or spot her as she was on her way to the other house, she would likely be in big trouble. Usually they are avoidable, as they often aren't in the town itself, and if so not many. She estimates that if there's one right outside her house right now, there MIGHT be one somewhere else, but she'd be surprised if there's any more. Its the scent of urine that sends them into a sort of predatory state, where they will actively hunt down the source of the scent, and can pinpoint it with alarming accuracy. She shudders talking about this, further reminded of her own fate. Under her breath, attempting to keep herself under control, she states that its not uncommon for more to venture into town at night, so most people follow a sort of sundown curfew. She lets out a small gasp, and seems to stiffen up a bit.

You look at the water bottle in your hand, and an idea pops into your head. Its absolutely crazy, and despite the situation, you crack up at yourself a little bit. You look at Ella, and thrust the water bottle towards her. Ella shakes her head dejectedly.

"Like I said, only the toilets here dispel the scen--"
You shake your head very abruptly. Screwing the lid back onto it, you present it with a flourish. She blinks at you. Given that you now have her full attention, you theatrically make a pin-pulling motion, and mock-throw the bottle without actually throwing it. You motion towards her, then to the bottle. Towards her, then to the bottle.

...

.......

You've never gotten the "You're insane" look quite like you're getting it right now. At least, you don't think so.

You sigh and point out that if she wants to get out of this, she doesn't really have many other options. She looks terrified, but after a moment of thought, Ella slowly nods. You motion for her to get to your feet, unscrewing the cap again. Ella struggles for a moment, before getting onto her knees, and bracing herself against the closet wall to help get to her feet. All was going well until she was finally standing and gravity hit her. You see her knees buckle a bit, and she lets out a large panicked gasp. Its not hard to tell why, as gazing at her you can see what appears to be a dime sized wet spot on her gray shorts. No, that looks more like a nickel. A quarter? Oh. Oh no.

The patch rapidly expands, covering her whole crotch area in a matter of a couple of seconds. You see a few drops cascade down her leg. She buckles from the effort of trying to hold it back, and said buckle just makes things worse, a short audible hiss filling the room as you see a small stream quickly hit the floor. She shoves her hands between her legs, crossing her legs and squeaking, looking both very flushed and very panicked.

The reason why very quickly makes itself known. You immediately hear a loud thump outside. And another. Like someone banging their head against a wall. Your skin crawls and your blood turns to pure ice as you hear the sound. Oh god, the sound. Like something without vocal chords trying to moan. You feel like you could vomit. The thumps switch position with every instance. It's looking for a weak-point..

You realize this just as it finds said weak point, and you hear glass break in a room adjacent to the kitchen you haven't seen yet. You don't give Ella time to spare, you dart forward and yank her shorts down yourself before shoving the bottle into her hands. She immediately begins peeing into it, but upon hearing the approaching...footsteps? Can those even be considered footsteps? Regardless, you interrupt her much enjoyed and moan-filled relief, yanking the bottle away with only a whispers prior warning when it was only half full. She pulls her shorts back up from where they were halfway down her thighs after just barely managing to stop the flow, and while she still looks miserably desperate, you're now hopeful she can make it out the end of the street. You motion for her to go out the front door, as you cautiously stare at the kitchen doorway where her pursuer is about to emerge.

You're standing in a complete strangers living room, holding a water bottle pee grenade that is your only hope of saving the life of both yourself and said complete stranger. You are about to try and outsmart a Dweller using said pee grenade. It is mainly attracted to the source of the urine, which has just left the house, but you hope you can somehow distract it, given you are holding her urine in her hand, and there is a little bit more of it on the floor in the closet. You're only going to have one shot at this. But how exactly are you going to go about it...? You're not entirely sure..

Firstly I'm just gonna say this game is freaking awesome. Thanks Kozmo, the writing is amazing.

So we are in bit of a tricky spot eh... Assuming there is only one of these things within range, which is hardly a safe assumption but since we are pretty screwed otherwise I suppose we better, we are in much bigger trouble than Ella.

It's possible that dwellers have fairly poor senses other than smelling urine. Also they might be fairly stupid. That would explain why they don't hunt for people in houses. And why it struggled to get into the house by banging on walls rather than going straight for a window or door. Or, you know, they have to obey some kind of weird local set of rules.

So I guess our options are;

1. Toss the bottle now and bolt out the door before it sees us. Maybe it'll be thrown by not being able to find a target near the smell long enough to make it to another building.

2. Wait till it emerges from the kitchen and then try and hit it with the bottle. If it smells like wee itself its ability to hunt might be shot. Or it might just follow and eat us, smell be damned.

3. Run now. Maybe we'll find a better way to ditch the bottle later.

I don't really want to make this call :p But... A faint heart never a fair lady saved. I vote 2; The moment it steps out of the kitchen plunk it with the bottle then run like hell for the nearest house, taking cover if possible 'cause I don't think they sense very well.

1) Chuck the bottle hard, with enough force for the damn thing to burst once it impacts, towards the end of the room to try and distract it.

2) Take off shirt, wrap it around the Firepoker.

3) Light match, ignite shirt while wrapped around Firepoker.

4) Get angry.

5) Bertbert. (KozmoFox understands what this means)

6) Get violent.

7) Burn that motherfucker then run your ass off.

Firstly, we should try to get Ella strip off her shorts, dry her legs where she peed, and leave the shorts in the room. She'll have to be bottomless for a bit, but she won't have the smell of pee currently on her. Secondly, go for a headshot with the bottle once it's in range. That might be able to confuse it enough for us to escape.

We should have had Ella do that. But we didn't think of it before she left. I thought of that as well but figured I better not mention it in case Kozmo missed it :p

Toss the bottle against the creature hard enough to make the bottle spill the urine on the creature, but make sure you aren't hit by the urine. After that run out of the house, quickly run two houses down, and hurry in to make sure you urinate in the toilet, since who knows when you'll get another chance.

You prepare for combat before realizing something very important based on what Ella has told you so far. You scramble to the door Ella just went out of, and open it before peering outside. You see her not even 20 feet down the road, hobbling unsteadily. She turns around upon hearing the door open, and gives you a look before opening her mouth to question you

"What a--"
You cut her off with a shooshing motion, before pointing at her dampened shorts, motioning up and down her legs with your finger, and making a frantic throat cutting motion with your hand. It doesn't take her long to realize what you're trying to signal, as her eyes go wide and she quickly tears off her shorts and underwear, using the dry spots to wipe off her legs and she tosses them into the middle of the road. She bashfully covers herself with her hands, one in front and one in back, still finding it within herself to be embarrassed at the half nudity despite the situation. You give her a nod and motion for her to continue on, before shutting the door quietly. You hear the Dweller moving rapidly through the kitchen and you realize you're out of time. You dart across the room and stand up against the wall, the only thing between you and the closet is the bookshelf you're next to, and you hope you're making yourself small enough against the wall that it blocks you from view. This places you against the top wall of the room, almost in the top left corner, with the bookshelf being in the center of the top wall. The top right of the room, in the corner, has two doors. The one on the high end of the right wall being the closet, and the one on the far right end of the top wall being the hallway that has the door to the kitchen in it. The Dweller is now standing in this doorway, you can hear it.

You gingerly peek slightly around the bookshelf and the sight you see is nearly enough to put you into a sort of catatonic shock. This thing must be over 8 feet tall...What on earth is this?!

That and many other thoughts pass through your mind as you take in what you see. It is indeed over 8 ft in size, with arms stretched down to its knees. Most of its body a gooey brown, yet with hair. It has a mouth and grotesquely large jagged teeth, but above said mouth there is just an oozing hole where the rest of its face should be. It has long, sharp claws on both its legs and feet. It shambles into the closet, standing over the puddle. It opens its mouth far too wide, and it begins clacking its teeth inhumanly fast, the sound making your toes curl. It seems to breathe deeply in....before instantly cocking its head towards the front door.

You realize that despite of lack of nose, that its likely just pinpointed where Ella headed. You know you have to act now or never. You sprint out from behind the bookshelf, and nail the Dweller right in the...you assume that's its head, with the water bottle full of Ella's urine. The dweller becomes drenched, and you immediately slam the closet door shutting it inside. You can make out very angry and confused hissing, a very dreadful sound. It is not happy, and you don't want to bank on its momentary confusion lasting too long. You might be able to run and hide elsewhere in the house, but not knowing enough about Dwellers you don't know if it will come looking for you...You know the building is two stories, you can find the stairs and try your luck. Another option is to try and follow Ella, but if you go out that door and follow her it might hear you and follow you as well, putting it back on Ella's scent. Of course this isn't a black and white decision, your creative tenacity has worked so far, but you don't have much time....You need to think of an escape plan fast.

!!!NEW MECHANIC!!!

Psyche Status [[Shaky]]

The psyche status will play a role in various encounters, much like this one. If the character has a very rattling encounter with a creature or person, their psyche will reflect this. You should take this into account with every other mechanic, for every mechanic has involvement with the other mechanics. A bad psyche will have bad consequences, panicked people are far more likely to trip when running away when compared to a calm person. Keep this in mind. If you want to do something risky that might result in the character becoming nearly catatonic in fear, the character might suffer severe consequences shortly afterwards depending on the situation!~
