  1. Lets go with A, Given what we know the stew is probably already being poured into our bowls and it would be incredibly rude to just up and cancel right after placing an order.

Alright, we are nearing the end of Chapter 1... or the in-game tutorial sequence! As such I have a double length part here. Enjoy! ============================================================================================================= JASMINE HUNGR SAVE (1d20 - 2 > 10) | RESULT: 18 - 2 = 16 PASSED Despite your overwhelming hunger and throbbing sensations in your lower abdomen, with the zombies making their way towards you something clicked inside of you and you suddenly felt a jolt of energy, almost as if you were injected with adrenaline. “..emily…Emily…EMILY!” you kept on calling her name while tugging on her arm trying to get her attention to no success. From your perspective, her gaze was focused on a single body, a female body which from the distance looked pale and had a hole in the back of her head. “Ali… why are you here” Emily spoke as tears began to fill her eyes, her body beginning to take short steps towards the body. Under any other circumstance, you would have stopped to ask her what was wrong, but with an entire horde of cannibals chasing after you, you both needed to get out of there and towards the pool building where you were assured many times before was safe. With that in mind, you needed to snap her out of it fast. As she was beginning to walk away, you continued to grip onto her arm tightly and when it was fully extended used up a large portion of your energy to tug her back, enough to make her spin around just in time for your hand to contact the side of her face. The sound of your hand contacting her skin seemingly echoing throughout the gym as you took another chance at getting her attention. “EMILY, WE HAVE TO HURRY!” Emily looked to be in shock from your hit, but ultimately you had her full attention as she nodded with tears beginning to pour down her eyes. Thankfully this wasn’t a moment too soon as zombies began to poke their head around the corner of the changing room. Not wanting to stand around any longer and with Emily still in shock, you took the initiative and while still holding onto her hand pulled her behind you towards the entrance to the pool building at the back of the gym. With the both of you emotionally and physically weak while being almost completely out of breath you couldn’t make that much distance on the zombies and by all estimates they were following a good ten seconds behind you. At your state, the slightly faster than speed walk across the gym to the pool transition door took a good ten seconds and left you panting heavily. Not wanting to stay out here a moment longer, you reached your hand out for the door only to find that upon pulling on it, it stayed in place with the telltale click of a lock. “Oh no” you spoke out loud. “no no no, this can’t be it” turning around to see the zombies now 8 seconds away. Now trapped with nowhere to go, you turned back onto the door and put your face into the glass wire window within the steel door and began looking frantically while pulling on the door. It was then you noticed movement, it was only a shadow; but at this point a shadow was better than nothing. To get their attention, you decided to pull out all the stops, doing everything from pounding on the door to screaming for help. With 6 seconds to go you immediately noticed the shadows begin to move towards the door At 4 seconds, a man was standing right in front of you with wide eyes as they began to turn behind them and yell something you couldn’t hear due to the soundproofing on the door At 3 seconds, you could practically feel the zombies breathing down your neck as the person looked to be fumbling with something on the door. “-ET IN!” was all you could hear at two seconds as the door began to swing opened. You didn’t need them to repeat it twice as you took the step backwards to allow the door to open In the process of this, the first zombie made a lunch at you, but thinking on her feet Emily quickly used her makeshift spear to stab at it USED READIED ACTION - ATTACK ATTACK ROLL - Emily (1d20 > 10) || Rolled: 17 – SUCCESS DAMAGE ROLL – EMILY (1d6) || ROLLED: 3 DMG WEAPON LOST: EMILY – Makeshift Spear (1d6) The zombie taking the hit and stumbling backwards, taking half the spear with it as it cracked in half to buy you an additional second of time, just enough for the door to open fully. Not waiting around any longer, you gripped tighter onto Emily’s hand and you ran into the pool building while the person began to pull the door shut, the sounds of several other people moving closer to help him out being heard clearly. You were going to turn around to begin looking and inspecting the location you found yourself in, however now that you were safe your body began to release your adrenaline and you instantly collapsed to your knees clutching your stomach as it began to cramp up again making you feel like you were about to throw up your own insides. While you could hear combat going on behind you, you just couldn’t find the strength to move anymore. Even Emily who you expected to still be calling your name and clenching your hand seemed to have disappeared. And then it continued to get worse as your brain started to focus in on your environment. Everything from the smell of chlorinated water to a sense of wetness in your hands to the faint sound of moving water behind what sounded to be an all-out bloodbath just meters behind you worked to overload your brain. Even worse was that the environment brought more attention to the compressed ball of hell-waters that was currently your bladder as it throbbed and pulsated inside of you, begging for release. There was no doubt about it, you were in absolute agony and with no reason to hold back you began crying out in pain. You didn’t care what was happening around you, you just wanted everything that was happening to you to go away. You sat in agony like this for what felt like minutes as the battle raged on behind you until you heard a familiar voice back at your side. “Jasmine, here” Emily spoke throwing a medium sized lunch-box in your hands. “We had collected these earlier. You need to hurry up and eat before the battle is over” You didn’t need to be told twice, and given your state your brain took over and began wolfing down the food before Emily had a chance to finish her statement. After a moment, you finished eating and with food now in your stomach, your stomach cramps would soon disappear. Unfortunately, however, even with one life endangering problem out of the way, you still had another major problem to take care of. And unlike your hunger, you would be endangering everybody else in the building as well. At the same time, you were also nearing your limit, so if something was going to be done, it had to be done fast. ================== GOALS =================== 1: GOTTA PEE! 2: Find supplies to clean and cover Emily and Your wounds with. 3: Save Adam ================== Actions =================== Usable Actions (ACTION RULES: You have 3 Action Points which you can spend towards actions) 1: Give up and wet yourself 2: Crawl into the pool and pee there || WILL CAUSE NEGATIVE MODIFIERS UNTIL DRY 3: Attempt to hold it in 4: Look around the Pool Building 5: Try and find some way to heal yourselves 6: Search the area for a new weapon for Emily 7: Join the fight raging behind you. *: Equip an Item from your backpack (What? || Uses 2 Action Points) *: Use something in your inventory (What? || Body = 1 Action Point, Backpack = 3 Action Points) *: Ready up an Action (Describe your Action || Cost Varies) *: Other Free Actions (These Actions can be done free of cost) A: Talk (About What?) Well, we are in dire situations, but we can't possibly risk doing anything with Ollie here, we have our dignity as a female to hold onto here after all. Besides, we don't want to give him a show, who knows what he would do and how he would react. So with that in mind, lets send him off on an errand, like tell him we are hungry and we want him to go get us something from the cafeteria as payback for our arm. Then once he is gone, lets hold ourselves while we look around and think of how to deal with this urgent and pressing matter.

That would be an interesting way to go about it. It would fit into another way I was thinking about, that being taking a training approach of if you want to increase your stamina, you run more. If you want to increase your strength, you fight more... if you want to increase your bladder capacity, you hold it in longer. The question then would be finding a good point to award increases. As for how I got the idea for the story, all I can say is that retail can be pretty boring if you don't have something to occupy your mind. It started with me wanting to write something involving zombies, and it evolved to z-omo-bies as the idea fleshed out in the month preceding me creating the thread

I have given it the idea of upgrades some thought, though I'm unsure how far I want to go in with the DnD elements. Though, if I did do it, it would likely be along the lines of a reward given out at certain points in the story whereby you would chose between several different options. Alternatively, it would require me going with a Level based system which gives out skill points which you could use to spend on stuff... although if we went this route it would likely involve revamping the character statistics to give you some variety to choose from.

Straight to the infirmary, we don't want to risk losing our arm. Besides, the spell will totally last awhile, and if it doesn't I'm sure the Infirmary will have a bathroom we can use. Either way, we can hold it

JASMINE HUNGR SAVE (1d20 - 2 > 10) | RESULT: 11 - 2 = 9 FAILED JASMINE HUNGER DAMAGE (1d4) | RESULT: 2 DMG With your stomach continuing to cramp up, tears continued to pour down your face. You wanted to walk by yourself, to not be a burden on others; and yet your body decided to ignore all of that completely. You were hungry, you desperately needed the bathroom, and you just felt so weak. Thankfully however, you weren’t dead…yet. With the sixteen zombies currently heading your way, Emily had you propped up on her shoulder as she began to move towards the Womens Changing Room. Thankfully for you, the school was built with a door-less design for the initial entrance to the changing rooms, and while this also meant that zombies could take advantage of the area to hide out in, upon turning the corner past the sight blocking halls, you were within the changing rooms and relieved to find that there were no zombies in sight. From here on, you would just have to move straight and you would be within the Pool… or atleast that’s what you thought before you managed to look straight ahead to notice that far down the hallway, the maze-like entrance/exit to the pool was completely blocked with benches and lockers. “E-Emily… how do” you began to speak before you were cut off. “It’s fine. We blocked off the entrance to the pool from the changing rooms as a defensive mechanism from the zombies. We’ll have to take the gym entrance at the back of the gym” Hearing this explanation, it did start to make sense. Since the school made use of a odorless design, blocking off the hallways and using the few doors as entrance points made perfect logical sense. However, before you could ponder further your stomach demanded all your attention again in a process that caused you to groan out loud. As Emily continued to bring you slowly through the changing room to the entrance that would allow you inside of the gym, she began to think aloud to herself. “Though… it is weird. The main entrance to the Gym shouldn’t have been locked, and the people suppose to stand guard weren’t there” This thought didn’t last long since as you came up on the doorless entrance from the Changing Rooms into the Gym, you could begin to hear the zombies following behind you clearly once again. There was no doubt about it, you were going to be coming hot into the safe house. “We’re almost there. Hang on” Emily spoke, and with the zombies in pursuit, you made your way down the gymnasium entrance hall and within the 15 seconds made your way around the walls and into the main gym. Upon entering, Emily’s thoughts from earlier were immediately answered as she stopped moving. Looking down towards the half of the gym which contained the main entrance to the rest of the school and the phys-ed office, you could immediately see several steaks of blood. Half of the streaks cut short to bodies lying on the ground and the other half making their way towards the stage and pool entrance. In addition, pools of blood could be seen closer to the main entrance of the gym. Looking further, it turned out what was blocking the door was a couple benches propped up against the side and broomsticks through the door handles. Unfortunately, before you could take in the scene more you heard the zombies make their way through the changing room. Not knowing what to do you looked up to Emily who had a look of pure horror on her face. “…Emily” you spoke, but she seemed unresponsive as her gaze locked on one of the bodies ================== GOALS =================== 1: Find Food 2: Find supplies to clean and cover Emily and Your wounds with. 3: Save Adam 4: Make it to the Pool Building ================== Actions =================== Usable Actions (ACTION RULES: You have 3 Action Points which you can spend towards actions) 1: Make a run for the Pool Entrance 2: Make a run for the Stage 3: Make a run for the Phys-Ed Office *: Equip an Item from your backpack (What? || Uses 2 Action Points) *: Use something in your inventory (What? || Body = 1 Action Point, Backpack = 3 Action Points) *: Ready up an Action (Describe your Action || Cost Varies) *: Other Free Actions (These Actions can be done free of cost) A: Scream for help B: Ask Emily what’s wrong C: Attempt to snap Emily out of it (How?) This can either end horribly, or do exactly what we need it to. It's worth a shot
