  1. Why are you voting for 1? If you don't say why, it won't be counted.
  2. "Thanks for having confidence in me." Áine says. "Awww~" Lynn simpers, "Stop, mushy is too good on you." As every night so far, Lynn puts her heels up on the small desk in the corner and leans back in her chair, hands behind her head. "Einy, don't mention it. My friends are something to me. Night." "Night." Áine returns. She lays her head on the pillow and closes her eyes. You're a softie that doesn't want anyone to know, Áine thought as she fell asleep. ... "Einy~" "nnn..." "Einy wake up." "n-nya?" Áine opens a single eye to find Lynn leaning down over her. "It's time to get up!" Lynn says quietly. Áine pushes herself upright and yawns, smacking her lips a few times, ears drooping. "Nnn, What time is it?" "Before sunrise!" Lynn said excitedly. "Nnn-nya?!" Áine's eyes pop open as she half awake meows in surprise. "What do you mean?" She looked at the window: No light poking through. Áine turns back to Lynn. "We need to get an early start, remember?" Lynn is looking fit to beam; only barely contained. Perhaps it's better she is. Áine rubs her eyes, ears folding against her head before popping up as she looks up at Lynn. "Can I wake up?" "Of course!" Lynn beams a bit louder. "We need to eat and get going. The kitchen downstairs should be just getting going." Áine stands up and stretches. "Unnnnnnnnya! Alright." Filing out the door, the two of them walk downstairs- Lynn trotting down -and find the serious barkeep just coming out of the kitchen in the back. "What are you two ladies doing up this early?" "Eating breakfast." Áine replies dryly as she hops on a barstool. Lynn joins her as the barkeep quietly, as much as a scowl can be, heads into the kitchen. "Sleepy?" Lynn asks as she leans on a hand. What will Áine do? 1. "I never get up this early." 2. "Mmm." 3. It's too early for conversation, just let me eat =@o@=; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Áine's Adventure returns! Áine and Lynn are up before dawn to get a very head start on the day, how will their first day of adventuring begin? Find out, as Áine's Adventure continues! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey folks! Holyjesus.wav Did things not go as planned for me. That job that was to end in January? March. Making lots of money? Not at all. Should be rolling in dough. Am not. Feeling? Miffed. Tired. Wondering why it took me a month to get back to our favorite nekomimi and fairy duo. Yeah so had to sort all that out, and some personal garbage too. Yay personal garbage. However, I've got loads of free time now! So, once again, Áine's Adventure is on again. And my flaky ass will be continuing the growing saga of our plucky catgirl and flippant faery. It's good to be back. Jesus christ that job was a bust hashtag my life
  3. *Drops into the thread all casual* C. War is literally hell on Earth, MacArthurian coups or not. We should see if there is indeed a little glimmer in it, we might not get another one anytime soon. Or ever.
  4. Hey folks! Sorry not a story update today. But! A needed update regardless. So I'm starting a new job tomorrow and I've been in a mad dash the last few weeks getting that sorted, plus trying to sort out the pieces after my formerly current job left me screwed. Funny how you can leave a job that has you super stressed but gives you lots of money only to get into a job that is rather stress free but your boss does everything to make sure you'll quit. Ironic. #Lifeisfunnysometimes This new job will have me on a crazy schedule, the get-up-at-five-am-and-get-home-at-six-pm-go-to-bed-at-eight type of crazy schedule, but it's a job that greatly surpasses my needs. Now here's the important part: It's temporary. It's expected to last until the end of January, so, for the next 6 and a half weeks or so. I've been devoting all my energy trying to get out of the crappy job and into this one, so that is why I've been rather silent on the updates for Áine's Adventure. I'll have time on weekends and I'll try to get Áine and Lynn's latest little adventure going. Trust me, it's going to be fun! In the meantime, I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season! Nya!
  5. Oh I certainly don't consider other popular votes. Nope, certainly haven't done that in the past. /halo
  6. "I don't think so." Lynn says, furrowing her brow for a moment. "What about sleeping? We're going to be gone for a while." Áine asks. "We'll just pick up some bedrolls along with the other things we'll need." Lynn says. "And what if we get into trouble?" Áine asks. "I'm really not that good in a fight." Lynn takes in a big breath. "Einy." Áine waits for Lynn's reply. "You really need to give yourself some more credit." Lynn replies, looking up at Áine with a face akin to 'really?' "You did fine against those wolves. Really, I can handle anything that could pop up." Lynn sounded rather reassuring. Áine stares for a moment before letting out a sigh; her head drooping a bit along with her ears. "Those wolves really unnerved me. In the moment, I was just, reacting, you know?" Snarrll! Áine remembers when one of the wolves lunged at her. "I guess I was just in that kind of state of mind where you didn't have time to think. I mean, I was scared, but it really didn't hit me until it was over." Áine seems uncharacteristically reflective, even to her. It bothered her. Áine turns and looks right into Lynn's red eyes with her big emerald ones. "Lynn, do you really think I have what it takes for this?" she asks. Lynn, after a moment, gives Áine a big smile. "Einy, you do." And while Áine is just about to form a word, "Einy, you're a smart, plucky, and resourceful woman." Blink. Áine's eyebrows perk up along with her ears. "The fact you're worrying in the first place shows your head's on straight. Not having any worry is for stupids who deserve what's coming to them." I-uh-wow. Lynn gives Áine a one-sided smirk. "Come on!" Lynn beckons with a hand. "I know a shop I haven't been to in a while that makes some great bedrolls. And they're cheap too!" Lynn walks ahead. Áine watches the flippant little Faery ahead of her. You really are more serious than you let on aren't you? A small, one-sided smile escapes Áine's notice. "Hey, wait up!" It's hers. Two-bedrolls later, a dinner, and a downed sun, the two are walking upstairs to their room. With a small click Áine unlocks the door. "Oh." Áine plops down on the edge of the bed. "We really ran around today." "I can't wait until you feel how good these bedrolls are Einy!" Lynn says in one of her excited tones. Áine eyes the two bedrolls in question. "Yeah I can't believe how cheap they were." Lynn gives Áine a good smile. "Well, let's sleep! The sooner we get up the better. If what that old tanner said was true that cave really is a day's walk and if we're gonna get there before the sun goes down we're going to need all the sleep we can get." Áine crawls into the bed. Awwwwwwwwwww-nya! She lets out a good yawn as Lynn hops up on the chair and leans back. "Hey Lynn." "What's up?" What will Áine do? 1. I really appreciate what you said. 2. What you said earlier, thanks. 3. Thanks for having confidence in me --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Áine's Adventure returns! Áine and Lynn have sorted what they need to do, and Lynn has assuaged Áine's concerns about this quest. How will their little treasure hunting adventure go? Find out, as Áine's Adventure continues!
  7. Áine looks at Lynn's mirthy face for a few moments. Sigh. "Alright, what should I know about what we're doing?" "What? We're getting a ring back from a cave for an old man." Lynn said with a puzzled look on her face. "No, I mean...Treasure hunting." Áine explains. "Oh." Lynn replies, pleasantly surprised. "Well, it usually involves jobs just like the one we're about to do: someone wants something from a place, you go to that place, get the thing, and bring it back. Get money." Lynn says matter-of-factually. "I see." Áine replies. Lynn glances at Áine for a moment. "Sometimes it involves bandits. Sometimes monsters. Sometimes it's supposed to be harmless but you're surprised. I've been doing this for a while, this sounds like an easy paysack." She seems really confident. Like it's just another day. Áine's eyes wander away as she thinks. "So, what are we going to need?" Áine asks changing the subject. "Well," Lynn begins, "first, we're going to need some rations for the day." Lynn moved her hands from behind her head to her hips as she spoke. "And a few other odds and ends." "What about rope or something if we have to do some climbing?" Áine asks. Lynn looks up with a quirked expression. "I can fly." Áine rolls her eyes up and away before back to Lynn. "Yes but we don't know how far we might have to go down." Lynn waves her hand back and forth dismissively. "We'll be fine!" she says shaking her head equally dismissively. "Okay, anything else?" Áine says, surrendering to Lynn's frivolity. Áine's looks up, realization on her face. What will Áine do? 1. What about sleeping on the trip? 2. What if we get into trouble? 3. Do you really think I have what it takes for this? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Áine's Adventure returns! Lynn has told Áine a bit about treasure hunting and they are about to grab what they need, but Áine has realized something, what will she ask? Find out, as Áine's Adventure continues!
  8. The tanner has already said that he wants our girls to retrieve a ring from a cave about a day's walk from the town. That's what Áine and Lynn will be doing.
  9. Thank you! It's good to be back! By the way, what are you voting for? :D Some of you may have noticed the last installment had a lot to it. Well, the vote was an even split, and after almost a week, nobody else came forward to break it. So, instead deciding where it would go, I decided to try to do all three votes as a bit of a challenge to myself. I'm not entirely sure about it, but things are heading in a direction. I feel bad for Lynn even though it worked out So, let's get those votes going! What are our girls going to do next?
  10. Áine stares back at Lynn. I'm really not okay with this. I know Lynn is looking for me to go along with it. ... Does she think I can handle this? ... Will she get mad at me? ... Áine turns back to the tanner. "I'm not comfortable with this job." Blink. "Ha?" Lynn is rather taken aback by Áine's response. "If you're going to send us into a place not even you know much about, and for less than what you just paid me for the work I just did, dangerous work, we'll need more than that." Áine responds. Her triangular cat ears can hear Lynn's breath change for a moment as the corner of her eye catches Lynn blink a few times as she quickly adjusts to what's going on. "Four gold." Áine counter offers. "Two and ten silver." the tanner counters. Yeah, I knew he'd turn that down- "Could you excuse us for a second?" Lynn spins Áine around by her shoulder and leads her with a hand on her back several steps towards the door. "Einy, what are you doing?!" Lynn whispers, eyebrows raised, earnestly toned. "This would be an easy chance for more money!" "Lynn," Áine glances back at the tanner, "I'm not a fighter, I'm only good with people- and we have no idea what's in there." "Einy, I can take care of anything that pops up. The monsters around here are next to nothing for me." Lynn reassures. Those wolves... "Einy." Pop! Áine stares at Lynn. "I won't let anything happen to you." What? "Don't worry, it'll be alright." ... "Besides, if you think I'll let anything happen to my favorite kitty, you're sorely mistaken." Lynn says, with an added wink and frivolous smile. Thump thump. ... "Okay." Áine says. Lynn's face beams as Áine turns and walks back to the tanner, Lynn in tow. "Well, we could do it. Make another offer." Áine says in a firm, confident tone. The tanner stares for a moment before he strokes his beard once more. "...Three gold." he says and stares up at Áine. Áine stares back before glancing over at Lynn, who is currently looking rather pleasant. Stare. "We'll do it." Kathunk! "Oh man, this is gonna be fun! I haven't gone on a treasure hunt in a while!" Lynn is extolling her happiness as the two of them walk down the street. Sigh. Áine sighs quietly to herself. ...Why did I say yes? Before Lynn looks up happily at her with that mirthy grin of hers. What will Áine do? 1. Well, let's figure out what we need for this. 2. I'm still not sure about this. 3. Sigh. Alright, what should I know about what we're doing? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Áine has decided to take the tanner up on his job offer after some convincing from Lynn. What awaits our girls as they get ready for their treasure hunt? Find out, as Áine's Adventure continues!
  11. Hey folks! Good god it has been a long time. A long time. Turns out moving and getting accustomed to work took even longer than I thought. And even more ridiculous drama reared it's ugly head. But, got that all sorted. #funtimes So gosh, it's been over a year. And two jobs. I'm finally back and ready to continue the adventures of our plucky and strong willed catgirl and her fun seeking faery friend. Some things that have happened and that you should know. Darksyn has given me rights to the thread. It was effectively mine from the start of the adventure and after a discussion, gave me permission to have it. If anyone has any qualms about this, feel free to message her. My currently job has me on a rotating schedule, so my free time is somewhat unpredictable. That being said I'll post when I can instead of grinding myself into the ground with trying to meet some arbitrary schedule. I'll simply post when I can and the story can move forward. And now, some thread rules. In the past people have voted with simply a number, not as of the last several posts, however: A vote for the story will need to contain more than the number of the choice you are voting for or it will not be counted. "3 because it seems like Áine's finally had it!" or "2, it seems not losing our temper may be a smarter option right now." would be great examples. I want everyone to be engaged, it's more fun that way. I do this because I enjoy it and I want everyone else to as well. Exhale. Well, I hope those of you who waited are ready, because I've had over a year to think about this whole shindig. And I've thought a lot and many about it. So, without further ado, ÁINE'S ADVENTURE IS BACK BABY!
  12. Áine stares at the man. "Uh..." Monsters? Is he kidding? He notices her pause. "I'd pay you well if you brought that ring back." Pause. "Where is this cave?" Áine smartly asks. "About a day's walk North-Northeast from town." he replies. "What kind of monsters are in there?" she asks. An ever smarter question. Like hell I'm going in there not even knowing what's waiting for me. The old tanner strokes his beard. "Don't know, only heard it, but definitely not common beasts." Oh great. ... Guess I should be nice and ask how much he'll offer. "How much?" Áine asks. The old tanner thinks for a moment. "Two gold." Two gold? Áine is just about to speak up when, "Two gold will do fine." It's Lynn. "Buuut there's the food we'll need to eat during the trip, supplies, and our time." Áine stares at Lynn, her eyebrows raised; her ears similarly piqued. "The two gold will cover your effort and time." The old man says. "Your supplies will probably be inexpensive enough, it's not far." "Welllll..." Lynn trails off before glancing up at Áine. Áine pauses. Is she waiting for me to decide? What will Áine do? 1. He's going to pay well, I'm not made for this. I'll just make a counter offer that he'll refuse. (The polite way of saying no) 2. No, no, and no. (The direct way to turn the job down, a dead Áine is not happening. Nyope) 3. "Well, we could do it, make another offer." (The snarkily confident option) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Áine's Adventure finally returns! The tanner has requested Áine and Lynn go retrieve a ring from a cave. With monsters of nebulous danger inside. Will Áine negotiate, or flat out refuse? Find out next time, as Áine's Adventure finally continues!
  13. *drops like a meteor into the thread* Some turrets, some bigots, and an AI who'd be incredibly grateful for its rescue. My my. >Figure out where the bigots are, and either find a way around them, or dispatch them as necessary, quietly of course. We are shadowrunners, after all. It's in the name. (Fay, go for the kniver in the kidneys, they can't scream it hurts too much.) >Determine which turrets are currently powered and which aren't. Hack as opportune becomes. >Minah is literally a techno-wizard-soul-into-machine-hacking-demon. Let her gifts run rampant and to the aid of the crew from safety if possible as she works her "techno-witch" magic. >Get our soon-to-be AI friend lady out of there and safely home. >??? >I don't know. Maybe flip them the bird on the way out? >Profit like only shadowrunners can.
  14. Lets go where the plot threads are leading us Let's help out our neighbor. Surely her daughter is fine. What could happen right?
  15. Helping in a quality fashion might be hindered if we're distracted. Let's relieve ourselves and then go help our neighbors.
